Twenty-seven former rebels yesterday received a total of P770,000 financial assistance from the Department of Interior and Local Government, under its Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program, at the Provincial Capitol in Bacolod City.
DILG provincial director Roselyn Quintana and Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, assisted by Brig. Gen. Inocencio Pasaporte, 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, PCol. Leo Pamittan and Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz, Provincial Planning and Development Officer officer-in-charge Ana Marie Lucasan and Board Member Juvy Pepello, led the distribution of financial assistance
Twenty-five of 27 former rebels received P660,000, while the two others got P71,000 and P39,000, respectively, under the government Balik-Baril program.
Former rebels are being given financial and livelihood assistance by DILG to assist them in their reintegration to mainstream society.*
