About P1 million worth of properties were destroyed in two separate fire incidents in Bacolod City yesterday.
The cause of fire in Purok Amor, Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City, which started at about 10:55 a.m. in the second floor of a two-storey house occupied by Jethro Mosang and Edwin Fernandez Dela Cruz, is now being investigated by the Bureau of Fire Protection.
The BFP estimated the damage caused by the fire, which affected about 11 structures mostly made of light materials, at about P900,000.
Armando Dellia, 72, sustained lacerations on his left foot and Mark Azucena, 49, sustained minor burns on his right forearm, while Judith Ramos, 47 and Sharon Aguilar, 56, experienced difficulty in breathing during the incident.
Villamonte Barangay Captain Rommel Flores offered the fire victims their covered court as temporary shelter, while Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya offered the victims packed food and bottled water.
Gasataya said he has coordinated with the Department of Social Welfare and Development for any possible assistance they could extend the affected families.
Meanwhile, the BFP estimated the damage caused by a fire that hit a residence in Purok Macanpina, 3rd Road-Gatuslao Street, Brgy. 6, Bacolod at P195,000.
The fire started at about 3:41 p.m. yesterday in the house being rented by Ruel Amar Campo from Kristine Grace Chua. No one was injured from the incident.
The BFP is also investigating the cause of fire.*
