A former municipal vice mayor was shot and killed by two motorcycle-riding suspects in Brgy. Poblacion, Pamplona, Negros Oriental Wednesday night.
The victim was identified by the police as former Pamplona Vice-Mayor Kent Zerna Divinagracia, who was the town’s civil security officer at the time of his death.
Chief Master Sgt. Edilberto Euroba III, public information officer of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, said yesterday that Divinagracia sustained gunshot wounds and died at a private hospital in Dumaguete City.
Initial police investigations showed that the victim was on his way home when he was fired at by a gunman, who fled on board a motorcycle with another suspect.
Divinagracia, 45, was reportedly shot three times.
The Pamplona town police has yet to establish the motive in the killing of Divinagracia, who had also served as municipal councilor.*
