The Mambukal Mountain Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary in Brgy. Minoyan, Murcia, Negros Occidental has been temporarily closed again for clearing and repair of damage caused by typhoon Odette.
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday said they are now clearing the resort of fallen trees before resumption of soft opening.
After typhoon Odette, I don’t think it is proper to receive visitors, Lacson said.
But he said they are targeting its reopening before end of the week, although it would depend as to how soon they could complete the clearing and cleaning of the debris left behind by the typhoon.
What is important, if we do accept visitors, they should be comfortable, he added.
The Mambukal Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary was reopened to the public last December 1 after more than a year of closure brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tourists who want to visit the resort are required to pre-register at their main office located at the Provincial Capitol Building.*
