The next presidents of the Liga ng mga Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Negros Occidental, will still come from cities of Victorias and San Carlos, respectively, as announced yesterday by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson.
From my discussions with Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer, we would like to maintain the status quo, Lacson said.
He, however, said that he will discuss with San Carlos City Mayor Renato Gustilo whom he would like to recommend “because we want to make sure that we have the right person, who can really represent the SK Federation.”
“I will ask him if there is any SK now in San Carlos who can fill in the shoes left behind by Board Member Pocholo Yuvienco,” Lacson added.
Gustilo yesterday said that Mayvelyn Madrid of Brgy. 5 was elected as chairperson of the San Carlos City SK Federation.
He added that Madrid will be recommended for the position as provincial SK Federation chairperson.
Lacson also said Board Member Yuvienco “did a good job” as provincial SK Federation president.
The election of provincial SK Federation officers should be held not later than November 29, as prescribed by the Department of Interior and Local Government.
Lacson also announced that outgoing provincial Liga ng Barangay president Juvy Pepello, of Brgy. 9, Victorias City, is about to finish her term.
He said that Victorias City has already made a choice for her replacement.
Both Yuvienco and Pepillo are allied with Love Negros, where Lacson is among the stalwarts.*
