BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

A civilian accused as a military informant was executed by the New People’s Army Leonardo Panaligan Command on February 19 in Sitio Omot, Brgy. Santol, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.

The summary execution of Haidito Boca was claimed by the NPA in a statement issued by its spokesman, Ka JB Regalado.

Regalado claimed that Boca, who formerly served as a member of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit, was an active military agent who also served as a guide during military operations.

The killing of Boca came more than a week after Regalado claimed that they were responsible for the killing of another military informant and inflicting injuries to two policemen during an ambush they staged in Brgy. Bi-ao, Binalbagan.

Regalado said that they were able to punish Boca despite the ongoing military operations in the barangay and neighboring areas, as a result of their staged ambush against policemen.

Being a military informant, Boca was a legitimate target of the revolution and consequently punished by the NPA, he added.*
