Three suspected drug peddlers were arrested by the policeyesterday in separate buy-bust-operations in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, that yielded more than P200,000 worth of suspected shabu.
The buy-bust operation at CL Ledesma Avenue in Brgy. 5, San Carlos City, led to the seizure of about 25 grams of suspected shabu worth P170,000 and P1,000 in marked money.
Nabbed was Emelito Villahermoso, 52, while a certain Jomar Baydal managed to elude arrest, police said.
Another buy-bust operation at San Juan Tunga in Brgy. 6, San Carlos City, also led to the apprehension of Joselito Babor and Pepito Marabe.
The arrest of the two drug suspects yielded six grams of suspected shabu and P900 in marked money, as well as two cellular phones, according to a report of the San Carlos City Police Station.
Meanwhile, an alleged drug personality was nabbed in a buy-bust operation in PurokMabinuligon, Barangay Bata in Bacolod City, at about 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Renato Tayopon, 37, of the barangay, was arrested with 15 plastic sachets of suspected shabu, weighing 11.91 grams and worth P81,000, the buy-bust item, P500 in marked money, a cellphone pouch, P600 in cash believed to be proceeds from the sale of shabu, and a Yamaha Mio without plate number, the Police Regional Office-6 said.
Regional Drug Enforcement Unit-6 operatives initiated the operation against Tayopon, who is now detained at the custodial facility of Station 3, and may face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*GPB/SGG
