The Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator’s Office at the Capitol in Bacolod City was locked down yesterday afternoon after the wife of one of its employees tested positive for COVID-19, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said.

The employee’s wife who works at the Negros First Provincial Blood Center tested positive for COVID-19, he said.

The employees of the Provincial Administrator’s Office have been placed in isolation until the test results of their colleague come out, Diaz said.

If the employee tests negative, work at the Provincial Administrator’s Office will resume today, but if he is positive all the other employees of the office will be tested for the virus, Diaz said.

The Department of Health reported last night that there were 41 new COVID-19 cases in Negros Occidental and one death, while Bacolod City had 22 new cases.*
