The Rebolusyonaryong Alyansang Makabansa (RAM) – United Guardians Brotherhood Inc. (UGBI), yesterday endorsed the re-election bid of Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia and congressional aspirant Dan Atayde.
The endorsement was made by RAM-UGBI president Ricardo “Mustang” Noble during the organization’s 32nd founding anniversary held at New Negros coliseum in Brgy. Pahanocoy, Bacolod City, where was also attended by RAM party-list Rep. Aloysia Lim, wife of the late Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim.
It is 15-0 for the group of Mayor Bing, Noble, a close associate of the late Atty. Simplicio Palanca, founder and chairman of the Bacolod Real Estate Development Corporation (Bredco) said.
Noble, who had a go signal by Rep. Lim to choose whom they will support in May next elections, said he was told by Atty. Palanca to take good care of Mayor Leonardia.
He added that RAM-UGBI, which has 12,000 members in Bacolod City, have chosen Atayde for the Bacolod congressional race, stressing that he is a person capable of bringing more development in Bacolod City.
When asked if whom she will support between the political groups in Bacolod City, Rep. Lim merely said she had not talked to any of them, stressing that this was the first time she had visited Negros Occidental during the pandemic period.
Atayde, who welcomed the support of RAM-UGBI, said he is ready to meet with Leonardia if invited. “I can always meet with them because I am independent. I can work on my own, to serve and help the people of Bacolod,” he stressed.
Leonardia earlier said that he is open to new political alliances, after criticizing Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya for his alleged political deception, accusing the solon of having been with the rival political camp.*
