Negros Occidental 4th District Rep. Juliet Marie Ferrer was named as chairperson of the House Committee on Justice, a day after the 19th Congress opened on July 25.

Ferrer, a lawyer, will also serve as an ex-officio member of the Judicial and Bar Council sharing the seat with the Senate Chair of the Justice committee.

“It is an honor to be considered, nominated and elected for this prestigious position,” Ferrer said as she thanked Speaker Martin Romualdez for his trust and confidence.

“Having been elected as the Chairman of the Justice Committee, I will be able to use my background as a lawyer in this endeavor. Rest assured, I will be working hard to fulfill my mandate in the service of God and the Filipino people,” she added.

Ferrer is on her third term as a congresswoman of the 4th district of Negros Occidental.*
