The Riverside Medical Center Inc. in Bacolod City yesterday announced that its isolation facility, which is specially designated for the admission and treatment of COVID-19 patients, has reached its full capacity.
RMCI, in an advisory, said effective yesterday it could no longer accept patients for admission who are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.
“We therefore advise patients with these symptoms to seek admission in an alternate healthcare facility of their choice,” it said.
The non-COVID and ancillary areas of the hospital continue to be operational for both outpatient services and patient admissions, the advisory said.
Its Medical Arts Building also remains open for scheduled consultations with doctors, it added. However, due to the level of their exposure to patients, several of the RMCI healthcare personnel have recently exhibited symptoms.
They are now isolated and being monitored while the hospital is facilitating their treatment. Contact tracing has also been initiated and is ongoing, it said.
“For the safety of everyone, several areas of the hospital are now undergoing disinfection and terminal cleaning. We assure everyone that patient safety remains our paramount priority”, it said.
RMCI said it will issue an update as soon as there is a change in its current situation.
“We ask you stay safe by properly wearing your masks and to continue observing social distancing,” it said.*
