The Regional Task Force 6 Ending Local Armed Communist Armed Conflict slammed the call of militant lawmakers, for the Anti-Terrorism Council to urgently revoke the designations of the Communist Party of the Philippines, New People’s Army, National Democratic Front, and individuals tagged as terrorists.

In filing House Resolution 756, the Makabayan bloc lawmakers in the House of Representatives said the revocation of the designation is a prelude to the resumption of the peace talks that broke down in 2018, during the administration of then President Rodrigo Duterte.

In a statement, Prosecutor Flosemer Chris Gonzales, RTF6 ELCAC spokesperson, disclosed that the filing of HR 756 is tantamount to advocating the interests of the CPP-NDF-NPA, that are duly designated terrorist organizations by the Anti-Terrorism Council (ATC).

“It appears then that the signatories to this HR No. 756 owe the Filipino people an explanation why they are so hell-bent on advocating the interests of the said designated terrorist organizations,” Gonzales said.

We are aghast by the apparent zeal of the advocates of HR No. 756 in promoting the interests of the CPP-NDF-NPA terrorist organization that is responsible for deaths of thousands of Filipinos and the destruction of billions of properties for the past 5 decades, he stressed in a statement.

It is an insult to the sacrifices of the men and women who laid down their lives to protect the democracy and the way of life of the Filipino nation, Gonzales further said.*
