Capt. Wilfredo Benoman, EB Magalona police chief, said yesterday that the victim, whom he identified as Neil Arcanghel, succumbed to gunshot injuries in the head.

While they have no record that Arcanghel, 39, and a resident of Sitio Panaosawon in Brgy. Tuburan, EB Magalona, was linked to illegal drugs, Benoman said the victim had been charged for robbery for the theft of a bundy clock at the town hall in 2012.

Benoman added that the victim was reported to have been frequently staying with his relatives in the cities of Silay and Talisay.

Investigations of the EB Magalona police further showed that a guard of a memorial park in the barangay heard two to three gunshots at about 1 a.m. yesterday, several hours before the body of the victim was discovered.

Recovered from the scene of incident were a slug and an empty shell of a still undetermined caliber of firearm.

Arcanghel was the third victim of summary execution since last week, when two others, who suffered a similar fate, in Brgy. Atipuluan, Bago City.*
