Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go supports mandatory wearing of face masks in Bacolod City public transportation, as ordered by Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez.

Go, who chairs the Senate committee on Health, said he had been enjoining the people to keep wearing face masks as a deterrent against the spread of COVID-19.

Negros Occidental and Bacolod City have logged 23 COVID-19 related deaths from the start of the year until April, with all fatalities being unvaccinated individuals.

Go, who led the distribution of Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) in La Carlota City, also campaigned for vaccination against COVID-19. He was also joined by Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer, Mayor Rex Jalando-on, and members of the La Carlota City Council.

“Vaccine is the only key solution, if we would like to return to our normal life,” the senator stressed.

A total of 1,000 residents of La Carlota City received P3,000 each under the AICSs program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Office, as facilitated by the office of Senator Go.

Go also announced that super health centers will also be constructed in Binalbagan, Cadiz, Calatrava, Escalante City, Isabela, Moises Padilla, Pontevedra, Pulupandan, Sagay City, San Enrique, and the cities of Silay, Talisay, Victorias and Sipalay, as well as Toboso and Cauayan, aside from cities of San Carlos and Bago, where he recently led the groundbreaking rites.*
