During the 1st Bantug Lake Ranch Football Cup held on December 17 at La Provincia Field Granada Bacolod City, the Girls Born 2006 of St. Scholastica’s Academy Bacolod grabbed the championship title after a scoreless final match against Trinity Christian School, leading to a penalty shootout that ended with a 2-1 final score.
Danicka Moleje and Ushin Valencia both found the back of the net, while keeper Nicole Tan made the lone save, and was later awarded Most Valuable Player.
The team is composed of Daniella Dumancas, Renee Gavriel Animathea Lomugdang, Mariella Benedicto, Louise Sproten, Sai Aluamento, Martina Gurrea, Bianca Tio and mentored by Coach Norberto Lanasa.
Sporting a 4-0-1 win-loss-draw record, the Born 2014 football team of the University of St. La Salle settled for the 1st runner up honors. They defeated Golden FC, Magallon FC, GPV San Carlos and Pontevedra FC on their way to the number 1 spot, scoring 17 goals in the process, but conceded 3 goals in the finals.
The team is composed of Derrick Guyala, Liam Cusi, Anya Delgado, Keane Agoncillo and Jacobo Lorilla.
The Born 2016 team also landed in 1st runner up, bannered by Vito Benedicto, Xanti Aguilar, Pocholo Lorilla, Tyler Jacob Alingasa and Shawn Treyes, while the Born 2015 team landed with the 2nd runner up trophy with Hilary Ortega, Enrique Escario, Gian Escario, Christian Puentevella, and Sofia Ernestine Guevarra.*
