Two deep well drillers died after being electrocuted on Thursday in Sitio Pispis, Brgy. Tapi, Kabankalan City, while two others were killed in separate shooting incidents in cities of Sipalay and Talisay, all in Negros Occidental.

The two deep well drillers, both residents of Brgy. Magballo, Kabankalan City, whose identities were withheld by the police, were drilling for water supply, when the unfortunate incident took place.

Initial police investigation indicated that the victims failed to notice that the metal pipe they were using for drilling had accidentally came into contact with the live main wire of the NOCECO distribution facility, leading to their electrocution.

Both victims were severely burned as reported by the police, and were declared dead on arrival at the Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City.

Meanwhile, an octogenarian died, after he was shot by an unidentified gunman on Thursday in Sitio Calagmakan in Brgy. Camindangan, Sipalay City.

The 81-year-old victim, whose identity was also withheld by the police, was fetching water from a deep well when he was shot in the back by the suspect.

He was reported by the police to have died, upon arrival at the Sipalay City Health Office.

A game fowl farm caretaker was also gunned down by still unidentified suspects on March 22 at Brgy. Zone 5 in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

Initial police investigations showed that the 29-year-old victim, whose identity they also withheld, and his live-in partner, were drinking coffee outside a nipa hut, when they were approached by the gunman.

The gunman, who was reportedly wearing a black shirt, shot the victim in the neck and left shoulder, while his live-in partner managed to escape unhurt.

The gamefowl farm caretaker died on the spot, while the suspect immediately fled after the shooting incident, which is now being investigated by the police.*
