USLS produces CPA licensure exam 2nd placer

The University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City produced nineteen Certified Public Accountants, including a second placer, in the October 2022 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPALE), records from the Professional Regulation Commission showed.

Kate Marie Buencochillo, summa cum laude of the BS Accountancy program batch 2022, ranked second with a rating of 90.67 percent.

Prior to the CPALE, Buencochillo consistently topped several national pre-board examinations and national accounting competitions, the press release said.

The PRC revealed that 1,722 out of 6,665 examinees passed the exam administered by the Board of Accountancy in different testing centers all over the county on October 14-16.

Despite the pandemic and online learning modality, the University’s first time takers posted a 72 percent passing rate and garnered an overall passing rate of 67.86 percent. Both figures surpassed the 25.84 percent national passing rate.

The nineteen new Lasallian certified public accountants are: Maycort Nemenzo Baculna,  Jesse Calderon Bayles, Ma Jelyn Corro Behasa, Kate Marie Uy Buencochillo, Faith Trisha Cercado, Micah Angela Seoane Chua, Amea Renyl Entila Dagunan, Ron Justin Pandan Doronila, Rica Rose Diaz Gabales, Carlo Gabriel Villaruz Garcia, Debbie Grace Li Liu, Karen Queenie Ramos, Art Torillo Sagum, Jan Eli Aguanta Semblante, Nicole Faye Sevilleno Sorongon, Chian Jhel Gallentes Tayupon, Andrea Nicole Aledron Tembrevilla, Ma Nica Señadoza Teves, and Mariecilly Chan Uy.*
