Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson has granted the request of the Vallacar Transit Inc. to ply the route between Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental to Hinobaan-Sipalay City, Negros Occidental and vice versa.

Lacson, in his reply to the letter of Hinobaan Mayor Ernesto Estrao seeking his advice on request of VTI management to resume operations in those areas, said it will take effect starting December 16 this year.

However, Lacson ordered Estrao to augment manpower at the provincial border to screen the S-PaSS permits of inbound passengers entering Negros Occidental.

He also informed Mayor Gina Montilla-Lizares of allowing VTI to resume operations from Dumaguete City to Sipalay City, vice versa, effective December 16.

VTI manages Ceres Liner passenger buses operations all over the country.

Lacson also approved the request of 2GO shipping company to increase its passenger capacity bound for Negros Occidental to 70 percent.

In his letter to Dan Paulo Fernan, 2GO Group Inc Vice President- Head of Sea Solutions, Lacson reminded them that minimum public health protocols must still be observed at all times.*
