The Police Regional Office 6 reported that it confiscated P19.9 million worth of suspected shabu, following the arrest of 85 drug personalities in Western Visayas, during weeklong operations from March 2 to 9.
While the Iloilo City Police Office had the highest quantity of confiscations with more than two kilos of suspected shabu, amounting to P13.8 million, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial topped provincial and city police offices in the region in terms of the most arrested drug suspects at 32.
NOCPPO also recovered 305.5 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P2.07 million, and seized 60 grams of suspected dried marijuana leaves, valued at P7,200.
In 72 anti-drug operations conducted by the different police units under the supervision of PRO6, a total of 2.92 kilos of suspected shabu, with a market value of P19,913,936, were recovered.
Of the 85 drug personalities neutralized by the police, the Iloilo City Police Office arrested 16 drug suspects in 12 anti-drug operations.
The Iloilo Police Provincial Office also reported having confiscated 272.5 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of 1,853,000, in 13 operations they conducted, which led to the arrest of 16 drug personalities.
Regional police spokesperson Maj. Mary Grace Socorro Borio also reported that other police units also contributed greatly to the accomplishments of the PRO6 in the anti-drug campaign.*
