Three business establishments in barangays Singcang Airport and Tangub in Bacolod City were found selling alcoholic beverages past the allowed time Friday, and the owners were issued citation tickets for violating the executive order of Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia on the sale of liquor.

P/Captain Jun Ray Batadlan, chief of Police Station 8, told the DAILY STAR yesterday that the discovery was made while they were conducting “Oplan Sita” operations in various eateries, bars and convenient stores in their areas of jurisdiction.

Under Executive Order number 73 issued by Leonardia on Dec. 1 following the downgrading of Bacolod to Modified General Community Quarantine status, liquors should only be served from noontime to 6 p.m. Leonardia also stressed that consumption of alcoholic beverages should only be done in private premises. He also prohibited the operations of beer houses in Bacolod while the city is under MGCQ.*
