A total of 300 micro and small enterprises owners received livelihood grants from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) during the two payout ceremonies recently held at the municipal plaza covered court in E. B. Magalona.
The grant, funded by the DSWD Sustainable Livelihood Program – Livelihood Assistance Grant, was requested by Mayor Marvin Malacon and facilitated by Senator Christopher Lawrence Go, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and 3rd District Rep. Jose Francisco Benitez.
Among the beneficiaries, 100 received P15,000, while the remaining 200 vendors got P10,000 each, according to a statement issued by the municipal government Public Information Office.
Malacon called on beneficiaries to invest the money wisely in their respective businesses.
On the other hand, a total of 677 beneficiaries of Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) – Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/ Displaced Workers (TUPAD) also started their 10-day work on September 16, after receiving their PPEs (Personal Protective Equipment).
PESO (Public Employment Service Office) manager Jessilyn Plaza said the beneficiaries, under the TUPAD program, will be involved in the cleanup drive in their respective barangays, for four hours a day for 10 days, with a rate of P450 per day or P4,500 for 10 days.
