5K mangroves planted in Kabankalan City

The Office of the Vice President conducted a tree planting activity in Brgy. Daan Banua, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental on March 23*

As part of PagbaBAGo: A Million Learners and Trees Campaign, the Office of the Vice President (OVP) conducted a tree planting activity in Brgy. Daan Banua, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental this March 23, a press release from the OVP said.

Together with the OVP-Panay and Negros Islands Satellite Office were the City Mayor’s Office Staff, Kabalikat Civicom, Bantay Dagat, Rebolusyonaryo Alyansang Makabansa (RAM) and Brgy. Daan Banua staff.

A total of 5000 mangrove propagules were planted by OVP.

Planting mangroves will help protect the fishes that live along the coastline.

OVP’s goal is to protect nature and continue the campaign it has started to protect nature and prepare for the impact of climate change on our communities.*
