All active Covid-19 cases in Bacolod were promptly extracted and brought to treatment or isolation facilities, executive assistant Ernesto Pineda, head of the City Extraction Cluster, said.
Pineda reported this during the daily huddle of the Bacolod City Emergency Operations Center-Task Force Thursday.
This means that all patients with Covid-19, including those in line lists, have been transferred from their homes to their assigned quarantine facilities on time, a press release from the city said.
The EOC-TF lauded this extraction achievement, saying it will help improve the overall Covid-19 situation in the City.
City Administrator Em Ang, executive director of the EOC, said the zero backlog in extraction is vital in reducing the number of Covid-19 cases in Bacolod.
“The efforts of our frontliners in the Extraction Cluster have paid off. Their performance has greatly contributed in lowering our Covid-19 cases recently,” Ang added.
She said the extraction feat is a result of the collaboration and coordination among EOC clusters, especially the Legal Team, Liga ng mga Barangay, Bacolod City Police Office, Isolation Facilities Cluster, and the Information-Education Cluster.

“It couldn’t have been possible without the hard work of all EOC clusters working hand-in-hand to put up a system that is collaborative, harmonized, and synchronized in battling this pandemic,” she said.
In a previous huddle, EOC Contact Tracing Cluster head, Dr. Rosalie Deocampo, said that a delay in extracting and isolating individuals found positive for Covid-19 increases the risk of infecting 90 percent of the household members of the patients.
To prevent this, prompt extraction and isolation of positive individuals must be implemented, Deocampo said.
Meanwhile, 15,000 additional doses of Sinovac vaccine were received by the City from the national government Thursday and brought immediately to the Cold Room facility of the City at the Government Center.
Bacolod has, so far, received 208,850 combined doses of Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Johnson and Johnson’s, and Pfizer vaccines from the national government.
On top of this allocation, the City also procured 650,000 doses of AstraZeneca using local funds. Of the number, 18,700 doses arrived on July 19.*
