P5M in aid extended

          The Department of Social Welfare and Development has distributed P5 million in financial aid to 979 indigents in crisis situation in the 3rd district of Negros Occidental, in coordination with the office of Rep. Francisco Benitez.

          Under the DSWD Assistance for Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program, qualified beneficiaries are provided with cash aid for medical and burial assistance, the office of Benitez said.

          The 341 residents were the latest recipients of the financial assistance organized by the Metro 3rd district congressional office, whose personnel strictly enforced the mandated health protocols when the assistance was given.

          For this month, P1.9 million was distributed by the DSWD to indigents in the cities of Victorias, Silay and Talisay, and the towns of EB Magalona and Murcia.

          The congressional office facilitated three payouts, including those for 284 individuals in May, with P1.3 million in assistance distributed, 187 beneficiaries in July with P837,000, and 167 recipients in September receiving P848,000.*GPB
