A tricycle driver in Victorias City, Negros Occidental, was reported to have succumbed to COVID-19 Friday last week.
Another tricycle driver also tested positive for the virus, according to a public advisory posted on the VictoriasMalihawFacebook page. He is now being treated at a hospital in Bacolod City.
The tricycle drivers in Victorias City have been advised to refuse passengers, who are not complying with minimum health standards, such as wearing of face masks and face shields.
As of Nov. 24, Victorias City had 28 active cases out of 302 confirmed cases, with 266 recoveries and eight deaths.
The city government of Victorias also resumed the five-day work for its employees on Nov. 23, Dino Acuña, executive assistant 4 and chief of staff of Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca, said.
Government offices are now open Mondays to Fridays. Alternative work arrangements would be adopted if deemed necessary, the advisory said.*GPB
