The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRMMO) of Negros Occidental is ready for the Holy Week break, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson disclosed yesterday.
Lacson, who presided over the 1st quarter meeting of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City, said that Holy Week readiness is standard, including in the different local government units.
PCol. Rainerio de Chavez, provincial police director, said that there will be no Holy Week vacation for all police personnel under the Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office.
“There is no red alert status over the province. But we prioritize the public’s welfare,” de Chavez said. “We have also coordinated with the Office of the Governor, the PDRMMO, the Armed Forces of the Philippines in the conduct of a peaceful and orderly Holy Break. We are ready,” he stressed.
We will be vigilant, de Chavez further said.
He added that police personnel will be deployed in churches and the tourist destinations in Negros Occidental next week.
Police presence will be heightened during the period, he added.*
