The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod is requesting Bacolod City Police Director Col. Noel Calderon Aliño to intensify the campaign against theft and robbery of electronic and telecommunications cable in the city.
The resolution authored by Councilor Claudio Puentevella said it has come to the attention of members of the SP that there have been several incidents involving theft of electronic and telecommunication wires and cables committed during the wee hours of the morning.
The theft and robbery of wires and cables have caused inconvenience on the part of telecommunication consumers and damage on the part of consumers and service providers, it said.
The resolution said theft of cable wires and electronic wires can even lead to disruption of services and may hinder productivity in the city, and even cause risk of electrocution.*
