BagoSphere trains OSY, unemployed

Bacolod’s homegrown social enterprise, BagoSphere, has partnered with Ateneo de Manila to train for employment disadvantaged youth in the Philippines, its press release said.

Rizalino Rivera, Ateneo de Manila vice president for Social Development, and Rico Ma. Antonio Gonzalez, BagoSphere PH Inc. president, recently signed an agreement to train and equip disadvantaged, out-of-school, and unemployed youth on English, interview, call center, and human skills to build their confidence, enhance their social skills, and make them competent and job-ready.

The Ateneo Center for Educational Development is at the forefront of the Ateneo de Manila University’s efforts to provide systematic, high impact, and visible programs of support for public school systems in the Philippines through the Department of Education, local government units, and other partners.

BagoSphere is an award-winning workforce training company based in the Philippines and in Singapore, and focused on human skills, the press release said.

“We believe that human skills, such as interpersonal communication, self-awareness, resilience, emotions, and empathy, are the missing link connecting, reinforcing, and developing other skills. Our programs train young people with a holistic approach, build their human skills and place them in formal jobs, fundamentally changing their life trajectories in a fast-changing world. We call it humanizing the future of work,” BagoSphere chief executive officer, Zhihan Lee, said.

It has trained over 5,000 people, across eight cities, and three job training centers. The BPO job training programs provide an 85 percent job placement rate, the press release added.*
