Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia oversaw the distribution of financial assistance from Senator Bong Go for 454 Persons With Disability (PWDs) amounting to P1.3 million at the lobby of the Bacolod City Government Center yesterday.
The Office of Senator Go has partnered with the DSWD to grant P3,000 each to Bacolodnon beneficiaries thru the DSWD Assistance for Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.
Leonardia, for his part, said, “I am happy that Senator Bong Go responded to us and found a way to help us in giving aid to sectors affected by the pandemic, especially our PWDs.”
The distribution is being facilitated by the city’s DSSD, headed by Pacita Tero.
Tero said the financial assistance is distributed in two batches to avoid overcrowding. A total of 222 beneficiaries are accommodated in the morning, and 232 in the afternoon.
The AICS is part of DSWD’s protective services for the poor, marginalized and vulnerable/disadvantaged individuals.
Today and tomorrow, another set of financial assistance from the Office of Senator Bong Go will be distributed to 3,943 beneficiaries, including fire victims of Barangays 12 and Alijis, and market vendors and other sectors.*
