Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson turned over checks to barangays of Negros Occidental yesterday, totaling P15 million to fund their projects, a press release from the Capitol said.
The recipient barangays are Brgy. V in Silay City, West and Brgy. East in Candoni, Bulata in Cauayan, Poblacion in Valladolid; and Sta. Rosa, Minoyan, Amayco, San Miguel, Lopez Jaena, Sta. Cruz, Canlandog, Zone III and Zone II, all in Murcia.
Each barangay received P300,000 for projects such as concreting of barangay roads, acquisition of multi-purpose vehicles, repairs of multi-purpose halls, construction of bleachers with canopy, construction of perimeter fence, rehabilitation of sports and cultural center, repair of day care center, installation of CCTV, and construction of a water system.
Meanwhile, Valladolid through Mayor Enrique Miravalles, also received P1 million for the acquisition of a multi-purpose vehicle.
The checks were received by the punong barangays and their authorized representatives, at the Capitol Social Hall.*
