The Department of Interior and Local Government in Bacolod City is still waiting for the original documents from its central office concerning the appointment of Psyche Marie “Pao” Sy as replacement of her father the late Councilor Elmer Sy in the City Council.
Pao Sy took her oath as councilor of Bacolod Saturday before Barangay Captain Rosinie Distrito of Brgy. Singcang-Airport where she resides. She will be serving the remaining four months left by her father that will end on June 30.
DILG Bacolod director Ma. Joy Maredith Madayag said they were only copy furnished Pao Sy’s appointment and they are just waiting for the original documents. “It did not pass through the usual office protocol where we send her records and her appointment will be sent back to us.”
This is being followed up by the DILG regional office. So, they are just waiting for it, she said.
Pao Sy had served as the chief of staff of Councilor Elmer Sy, a dialysis patient, who had been councilor of Bacolod City for about 15 years. He passed away in June 2020 due to complications after contracting COVID-19.*
