Mayor Evelio Leonardia attended the opening of a new Business Process Outsourcing company at the ground floor of La Luz Building, Lacson Street, in Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City yesterday.
The Xilium Professional Services is an Iloilo-based BPO company that offers virtual medical assistance to clients. Its president and chief executive officer, Vanessa Belleza, said this will be their third branch in the country, a press release from the city said.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Xilium chief operations officer Joven Suobiron, talent acquisition manager Allan Endrada, human resource manager Jother Tirador, and executive assistant Jessen Joy Belleza.
Joining the mayor were Councilor Renecito Novero, Barangay 31 Captain German Bullolaza, and Victorias City Vice Mayor Jerry Jover, the press release said.
Leonardia acknowledged that Bullolaza was very instrumental in facilitating the opening of Xilium in Bacolod.
Belleza, for her part, said she believes that Bacolod is “the best place” for the expansion of Xilium.
Leonardia told the Xilium executives that the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry has consistently considered Bacolod among the most business-friendly cities in the country.
“We would like you to grow, because if you grow, Bacolod will also grow, if the city grows, we will all continue to grow,” the mayor stressed.*
