The Police Regional Office 6 reported the confiscation of more than P45 million worth of illegal drugs from 242 drug personalities, of which 135 were arrested in Negros Occidental, including highly urbanized Bacolod City, for the month of March.
According to a PRO 6 report, the sustained anti drug operations yielded 6.7 kilos of suspected shabu and 42 grams of dried marijuana leaves, valued at P45,624,415.
The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office accounted for 94 drug personalities, Iloilo Police Provincial Office – 42, Iloilo City Police Office – 39, Bacolod City Police Office – 31, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 6 – 14, Capiz PPO – 8, Aklan PPO – 6, and Antique and Guimaras Police Provincial Ofices with four each.
RPDEU6 has the highest drug haul of about 3.374 kilos of “shabu,” followed by Iloilo City Police Office with 1.369 kilos, and Iloilo PPO with 651 grams.
While Negros Occidental, Capiz and Aklan recovered marijuana weighing 27, 10, and five grams, respectively.
In a statement, PLt. Col. Arnel Solis, newly-designated officer-in-charge of the Regional Public Information Office, said that the successful campaign was the result of the directive of PRO6 director Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky for all drug enforcement units in the region to sustain their efforts, down to the local police stations.
Wanky also lauded the remarkable efforts of all Drug Enforcement Units across the region for their tireless and aggressive operations against illegal drug traffickers.*
