A P50 million Water District Rehabilitatiion and Waterline Improvement project is soon to benefit Kabankalan City residents in Negros Occidental, following its groundbreaking on April 15, which was led by Senate President Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri.

Kabankalan City is the home city of Joe Zubiri, the senator’s father.

Zubiri said he expects that the project will boost further the development of Kabankalan City, especially during the El Niño.

Negros Occidental 5th District Rep. Emilio Bernardino Yulo said that Senate President Zubiri also led the inauguration and blessing of a P15 million dormitory at the Carlos Hilado State Memorial University (CHSMU) in Brgy. Enclaro, Binalbagan.

Yulo said the CHMSU Binalbagan dormitory has a 64-bed capacity.

Another P15 million dormitory at the Central Philippines State University in Moises Padilla in Negros Occidental, was also completed, and is now ready for occupancy, he added.

On the other hand, Yulo also reported that 9,682 scholars in the 5th district of Negros Occidental also received educational assistance on April 15 and 16.*
