PBrig. Gen. Leo Francisco is the new regional police director of Western Visayas.

Francisco, a former Manila Police District chief, replaced PBrig. Gen. Flynn Dongbo on Aug. 8.

Dongbo has been reassigned to the PNP Directorate for Logistics at Camp Crame, according to PBrig. Gen. Roderick Augustus Alba, PNP Public Information Office chief.

About 80 police generals were reshuffled by PLt. Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. a week after being appointed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as the new Philippine National Police chief.

“The reorganization of personnel occupying key positions aims to provide opportunities and career growth,” Alba said.

At the same time, this move shall strengthen and empower strategic offices and units with the placement of more seasoned and experienced senior officers at their helms to further hone the operational and administrative undertakings against criminality, enforcement of the law, and maintenance of peace and order, Alba added in a statement.

Francisco will be replaced by Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon, who used to be the Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP) chief, as the new Manila Police District chief.

PLt. Col. Arnel Solis, PRO 6 spokesman, said that the turnover of command ceremony between Dongbo and Francisco is yet to be announced.

Other senior police officials who were previously assigned in Negros Occidental and given new positions were PBrig. Gen. Samuel Nacion – from Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) to Directorate for Investigation and Detective management.

Maj. Gen. Alexander Sampaga – from the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) to Office of the Chief PNP (OCPNP); Brig. Gen. Randy Peralta – from PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) chief to the Police Holding and Accounting Unit under the Directorate for Police Records and Management, and Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky – from PNPA to National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).*
