In line with the 2022 World Tourism Day themed “Rethinking Tourism”, the Sipalay City government, through its City Tourism Office, held a Sipalay Tourism Food Festival and the opening ceremony for its 16th Sipalay City Tourism Month celebration at the Rodrigo G. Chua Memorial Sports Center in the city on September 8.
The celebration was observed by the barangay councils from the 17 barangays and different establishments of the city.
Sangguniang Panlungsod committee chairperson on tourism Councilor Ellaine Pearl Garinganao Palma led the activity, with councilors Rome Vargas, Claudio Bacatan, Ulysses Hisona, and Jewel Gift Selga; SK President Novey Leen Molejon; SP Secretary Florante Rufino; Liga ng mga Barangay President Elir Borres; Executive Assistant Engr. Praem Mediodia and City Agriculturist Raymond Villanueva.
Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Ferdinand Sy, personnel from the schools division office, and different schools in the city also attended the celebration.
The event intends to improve and promote the local industry and tourism of the city, and to raise awareness among the community about the importance of tourism and its value.*
