The members of the Art Association of Bacolod (AAB)-Negros Youth have recently organized their first group exhibit titled “Timplada” at the AAB Gallery + Cafe at the Art District in Brgy. Mandalagan, Bacolod City.

The youth members consist of nine artists, namely: Gabriel Pansoy, Tyrone Yao, Xel Gonzales, Jm Valenciano, Bea Dolloso, Yara Sevilleno, Angeline Maravilla, Charlaine Barrido, and Janna Remus.

The budding artists, who are all in the middle of their secondary and tertiary education, started their group in 2019 after being encouraged by senior artists of the association to indulge and be part of the art community.

The main purpose of AAB-Negros is to share and train future generation of artists in continuing what the art community had started.

AAB president Leah Samson said the exhibit is the AAB-N Youth’s official launching. They were the ones who organized and curated everything.

“We want to train and expose them to help establish their professionalism.  Although we are supporting them, we also want them to become independent so they can continue to run the association in the future” she said.

“Timplada” is a Filipino word that means blend or mixture. As the term may imply, this art exhibition features distinct and different approaches to art, which combined, create a flavorsome and well-infused result of wonderful ideas and passionate strokes of the brush.

The show explicitly showcases the novel works of each artist of the AAB Youth.*
