More than 2,000 residents of typhoon-affected Brgy.5 in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, have availed of assistance from Provincial Consultant Alfredo Benitez.
Celebrity couple Javi Benitez of Victorias City, and his girlfriend, Sipalaynon Sue Ramirez, assisted by former Rep. Mercedes Alvarez-Lansang, led recently the distribution of rice and food packs, hygiene kits and water.
Sue and Javi also interacted with the typhoon-affected residents and helped ease the pain brought by their traumatic experiences and losses during the typhoon.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson also distributed yesterday financial assistance of P2,500 each to 140 typhoon-affected families in different towns and cities of Negros Occidental, which came from the Office of Sen. Risa Hontiveros at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City.
On January 6, SM Store Bacolod led by Assistant Branch Manager Elka Torrejon turned over relief goods and assorted toiletries to the provincial government of Negros Occidental, which was received by Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz.
Diaz said that the relief goods will be distributed to typhoon-affected families in the 6th district of Negros Occidental.*
