On January 20, the Korea-Philippine Festival Cultural Exchange Association and VMA Global College formalized an agreement to promote cultural and artistic exchange at the JK Blossom Hotel in South Korea, a press release from VMA said.

Dr. Elizabeth Salabas, president of VMA, and Atty. Juan Orola, chairman of the Board of Trustees, both hold distinguished status as certified regular members of the KPFCEA, expressed their profound gratitude to the Korea-Philippine Festival Cultural Exchange Association (KPFCEA), emphasizing their shared vision for mutual understanding.

Salabas and Orola specifically acknowledged Rodney Bomban, VMA’s Korean Language instructor, for his invaluable contribution in facilitating the seamless agreement signing in South Korea.

Dr. Johanna Vargas, vice president for Academic Affairs, contributed to the positive atmosphere by orchestrating an enriching international tour for VMA CHBM students, office heads, and CHBM faculty in the tourism and hospitality industry.

The 102-head delegation, comprising fifty-nine CHBM students, VMA administrators, heads of departments, and faculty members, embarked on a five-day adventure in Korea, immersing themselves in local culture and tourism, creating cherished memories and valuable experiences, the press release said.

As a pivotal aspect of the mutual agreement, Dr. Junghwan Kim (Tomas Kim), president, and researcher of the Korea Festival Culture Institute, is set to visit VMA in February as an honorary professor. Kim’s role in teaching tourism and event management will further solidify collaborative efforts, emphasizing the overarching focus on fostering international research collaboration—a true commitment to academic and cultural exchange.*
