A woman, who succumbed to neck injuries, was found dead on November 25 inside a sugarcane plantation in Sitio Dautan, Brgy. Mambugsay, Cauayan, Negros Occidental.
The victim was identified by the Cauayan police as Agnes Baloyo Ban, 35, of Purok 1, Barangay Guiljungan, Cauayan.
Police investigations showed that the victim was heard to have been figured in a shouting match with somebody prior to the discovery of her lifeless body inside a sugarcane field.
P/Lt. Col. Norberto Barniso, Cauayan police chief, yesterday said that the victim’s neck had been slashed.
Barniso added that their investigations further indicated that the victim was waylaid and killed by the suspects, who dragged her body inside a sugarcane field.
Police probers are now concentrating their investigations to the three individuals, whom he considered as “persons of interest” in the murder of the victim.
Barniso said their initial investigations did not show that the victim had been molested.*
