1 killed, 5 injured in reefer van-dump truck collision

A 19-year-old passenger died, while five others were hurt, including two drivers, as a result of a vehicular collision on February 11 at Osmeña Avenue in Brgy. 5, Victorias City, Negros Occidental.

Investigations conducted by the Victorias City Police Station showed that Gimbo Escorial lost control of the Isuzu refrigerated van steering wheel he was driving after it apparently suffered a mechanical malfunction.

The refrigerated van fell on its side, skidded and, and hit an Isuzu Forward dump truck driven by Francis Poral, with three passengers identified as Ireneo Demapanag, Jun Art Advincula and Jilson Morgiya, all residents of Brgy. Nanca, EB Magalona, according to a report of the Victorias City police.

Jun Jun Milleza, 19, of Brgy. Andres Bonifacio, Cadiz City, a passenger of the van, was declared dead on arrival at a medical facility.*
