A senior citizen and five others were arrested in a series of buy-bust operations, that yielded more than P70,000 worth of suspected shabu and a homemade shotgun, in Negros Occidental Monday.
A joint operation of the local police and operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Hacienda Lopez, Brgy. Matab-ang, Talisay City, led to the arrest of Joel Parreno for illegal possession of a firearm.
The arrest of Parreñ0, 59, yielded a 12-gauge homemade shotgun with a magazine assembly, P100 in marked money, and P7,900 in boodle money.
Joel Reveche Jr. and Ellyza Joy Garzon were nabbed in possession of about 10 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P68,000, and P500 in marked money, in a buy-bust operation of the police in Sitio Ambacan, Brgy. Poblacion, San Enrique.
Policemen also arrested Raymundo Guillero, 70, in Purok Stop, Brgy. Blumentritt, Murcia, Negros Occidental, with 0.2 gram of suspected shabu, worth P1,360, a cellular phone, and P500 in marked money.
An alleged street level individual drug personality, identified by the police as RJ delos Reyes, 22, was apprehended in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Fabrica, Sagay City, also on April 19. He yielded five sachets of suspected shabu and P500 in marked money, the police added.*
