A total of 124 Army soldier-aspirants started their six-month rigid military training at the Division Training Unit headquarters of the 3rd Infantry Division in Camp Macario Peralta, Jamindan, Capiz yesterday.
The aspiring foot soldiers are slated to undergo training under the Candidate Soldier Course, and Jungle Warfare and Mountain Operation Course, that will be handled by the 3ID DTU, Maj. Cenon Pancito, 3ID spokesperson, said.
Maj. Gen. Eric Vinoya, 3ID commander, who was the guest speaker at the activity, told candidate soldiers to expect challenges in the training that will test their limits.
The aspiring soldiers belonging to Class 668-2021 successfully passed the strict and meticulous selection process set by the Philippine Army, Pancito said.
During their six-month training, candidate soldiers receive monthly pay and allowances of about P33,327 each.
They are also entitled to receive insurance and healthcare benefits, billeting and housing privileges, job security, leadership, and other skills training and opportunities for career advancement based on performance.
Upon the completion of training, they will be assigned to infantry units of the 3ID in Western and Central Visayas, including the Negros Island.*
