Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya filed House Bill No. 292 creating the Bacolod Economic Zone.
Gasataya said that once the bill is passed, this will encourage local and international investors to invest in Bacolod City, which will provide livelihood for the people, as well as business opportunities and increase the market value of properties in the city.
The city already has the Bacolod-Negros Economic Highway, old Airport, and other government infrastructures which are ready to accommodate the establishment of an Economic Zone, he said.
Meanwhile, Gasataya said that a result of the laws he authored which provided free college education in addition to his scholarship programs, they were able to produce additional skilled and competent graduates and workers, and most importantly have provided them and the people opportunities for employment and a chance to engage in business in Bacolod City.*
