Members of the Federation of Irrigators’ Association of Central-Negros–Bago River Irrigation System (FIACN-BRIS) got assistance in the form of arm machineries and equipment from the provincial government of Negros Occidental.
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led the turnover of farm machineries and equipment, worth P22.3 million, on Nov. 13 at the National Irrigation Administration office in Bago City.
Turned over to the FIACN-BRIS, headed by Rosemarie Caunca, were tractors with rotavator/tiller and combine harvesters.
The farm equipment aim to help the farmers lower their production cost with the end goal of increasing their income, a press release from the provincial government of Negros Occidental said.
It was Caunca who facilitated for the proposal and release of the projects.
Present at the turnover rites were Bago City councilors Victor Michael Javellana and Andrew Martin Torres, engineer Isaias Melendez – NIA division manager, and Rafael Magalona – president of the Tabunan Small Farmers Irrigators Association Inc., among others.
Meanwhile, the provincial government of Negros Occidental also donated a 10,000 square-meter lot, worth P31.8 million, in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City for use by the Land Transportation Office.
