Elizabeth Felicias Gaston-Puey, popularly known as “Christy Love,” celebrated her 80th birthday recently at Nature’s Village, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

Beth started her career as a disc jockey at the Manila Broadcasting Company-Bacolod (DYEZ) in 1980, handling a program titled “EZ Listens to You.” Aside from sharing music and ideas, she also shared household, health and beauty tips, as well as showbiz news/gossip in another program, “At Your Service.”

She also rendered public service in tandem with former DYEZ manager Boy Robles in another program titled “Operation Tulong.”

Having been in the radio industry for 22 years, from 1980 to 2002, Beth is considered an institution, having witnessed the evolution of the music industry from long playing record (LP), betamax cartridge, tape, compact disc (CD), to its current digitalization.

She has served as president of the Art Association of Bacolod (AAB), and president of Soroptimist International-Bacolod, both in 1984.
