A couple was shot and killed by an unidentified gunman in Sagay City, while a husband allegedly killed his wife in Calatrava, Negros Occidental, both on Thursday.
An unidentified gunman shot and killed a couple, identified as Ermelito Desamparado, and his wife, Melanie, in Purok Diot, Brgy. Molocaboc, Sagay City, at about 6:30 p.m., the police said.
Initial investigations of the Sagay City police showed that Ermelito, 46, fetched his wife, a 44-year-old teacher, at the Molocaboc wharf, when they were waylaid and shot several times.
Both victims succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds and died on the spot, the police said.
MAN KILLS WIFE
Meanwhile, Alex Ambasing, 32, allegedly shot and killed his wife, Sendy, 28, in Sitio Cabesa Antonio, Brgy. San Isidro, Calatrava, Negros Occidental.
Initial investigations of the Calatrava police showed a heated argument ensued between the couple in their bedroom shortly before midnight Thursday.
The victim sustained a gunshot wound in the head and was declared dead on arrival at the Calatrava Municipal Hospital, while her husband immediately fled after the incident. Jealousy and misunderstanding reportedly triggered the shooting incident, the Calatrava police said.*
