Motorcycle riding suspects yesterday shot and killed a 57-year-old former barangay kagawad in Brgy. Poblacion, San Enrique, Negros Occidental.
The victim was identified by police as Alejandro Azcarrate, 57, of Purok 5, Brgy, Nayon San Enrique.
Police investigations show that the victim was on his way home on board his driven motorcycle when he was shot by two motorcycle riding assailants.
PMaj. Bonifacio Aral, San Enrique police chief, said that the victim succumbed to gunshot wounds in the head. He was reported by the police to have been died on the spot.
Three empty cartridges of .45 caliber pistol were recovered by the police at the scene of incident.
The two suspects, who fled on a black scooter-type motorcycle without a plate number, were reported to have been wearing black jackets.
The San Enrique police has yet to establish a motive for the incident.*
