Re-elected Bacolod Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran said he is ready to turnover his position as chairman of the local Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) to whoever will be the choice of the incoming administration.
Familiaran, who has been one of the frontliners in the fight against COVID-19 since 2020, said the decision will depend on the discretion of the chief executive, although he has no problem working with anyone.
But he would like to expose the younger set of elected city officials to the job to prepare them for the responsibilities, he said.
When asked if ever he will be requested to remain as chair of the IATF, Familiaran said this will depend on his discussion with mayor-elect Albee Benitez concerning the people that will compose the task force with whom he can work with.
Familiaran said the composition of the Emergency Operations Center- Task Force (EOC-TF) will also depend on the discretion of the chief executive.
Newly elected councilor and former City Administrator Em Ang is currently the executive director of the EOC-TF.
Meanwhile, Bacolod remains under Alert Level 1 from May 16 to 31.*
