Two separate fire incidents occurred yesterday in Bacolod City causing injuries to two children and two adults with an estimated damage to properties amounting to about P600,000 on Valentine’s Day.
The first fire incident damaged the house of Corazon Hechanova Cantiga, 69, at Zone 4, Progreso Village (formerly Abada-Escay), Bacolod City, which was made of mixed materials.
Reports from the Bureau of Fire Protection said that the fire started at about 12:50 p.m. in the southwest portion of the house which was being utilized as a production area for inflated balloons. The fire was put out at about 12:51 p.m.
The incident caused injuries to Michelle Paglinawon, 7, female; Justice Cantigan, 7, male; Cyrus Cantigan, 32, male; and Efren Villamor, 70, male.
The BFP estimated the damage caused by fire at P240,000.
Meanwhile, another fire damaged the house of Larry Gallenero Fernandez, 63, at Señorita Street, Eroreco, Bacolod City.
The fire started in the bedroom shared by Larry and Larnie Fernandez at about 1:30 p.m resulted in damage estimated at about P360,000.
The BFP is still investigating the cause of fire that damaged both houses made of mixed materials.*
